With a footprint no bigger than an inkjet printer, the Samsung CLP-300 is the smallest colour laser printer in the world, it will fit just about anywhere and makes sit suitable for the home user. The purchase price of the printer also makes it suitable to the home user as are the price of the Samsung CLP-300 toner cartridges. The reason for needing a laser printer are usually down to wanting a printer that can handle larger print jobs than an inkjet and print than faster for a lower cost. Because the CLP-300 has a single drum unit this means it does four passes when printing colour documents and as result the CLP-300 takes four times as long to print a colour document as it does a black one, so while mono pages can be printed at good 16ppm, colour are a little slower with a maximum speed of 4ppm which is slow for a colour laser, but still far quicker than any inkjet printer can manage. Printer cartridges for the CLP-300 are reasonable cheap to buy and they print 1,000 pages each colour and 2,000 black. The cost per page for the Samsung CLP-300 printer cartridges work out around 1.8p per page black and 8.7p for colour but this can be reduced by using remanufactured Samsung toner cartridges. Print quality produced by the CLP-300 is very good, text printing impartially is excellent and colour graphics are also of reasonable quality for most peoples needs, don’t think that the CLP-300 is a photo printer however, it can print photos but know where near the standard of an inkjet printer. Overall The CLP-300 is a good buy for people looking for a good value printer to print medium/large print jobs that an inkjet printer would not be capable of handling.
